All of Create, but Worse!

Getting Started:

How do I join?
  • First, install CurseForge (see below)
  • Next, import the current version of the modpack (see below)
  • Next, click play, log into the Minecraft launcher that pops-up if needbe, and click play there as well
  • Next, once the game launches, click "Multiplayer", and click "Add Server". You can put anything for the name, but ask Gadolinium or Fury.MB for the IP
  • You can then choose the newly-added server and join!
What do I do after I Join?
  • If you want to play by yourself, you're good to go! Go have fun. No PvP/Griefing Gadolinium/Fury.MB's team, though!
  • If you want to play with us, ask Gadolinium or Fury.MB to add you to the FTB Quest team (for quest progression, visibility, and access to the base) and the Minecraft team (to prevent PvP damage)
  • Once you've found your home (or joined ours), right-click on a bed to set your respawn point, and use the /sethome command to set home! You can use /home to get back from anywhere.
How do I Install CurseForge?

Click the following link, and choose "Download standlone". Once the file downloads, run the installer!
https://www.curseforge.com/download/app

If you ALREADY have Overwolf, feel free to choose that option instead, if you really want to.

How do I import the modpack?
  1. In the Discord, go to the Minecraft channel #explore-my-mineshaft-daddy, and check the pinned for the latest modpack version!
  2. In CurseForge, choose Minecraft Java, go to "My Modpacks", and click "Import"
  3. Choose the zip file you downloaded a moment ago
  4. Wait for it to finish downloading the content
  5. Click Play!

How do I update the modpack?

As far as I know you cannot literally "update" the pack. Instead, import the new modpack version, using the normal process.

This however means you will lose your settings, like map waypoints, video settings, keybinds, volume, etc. To avoid this, you can copy your files from the old pack to the new one, so that your settings don't get lost. If you don't care, skip this step

Quests? What's that?

There is a popular modpack and community called "Feed the Beast". They have created a mod called "FTB Quests", which allows modpack creators to create a series of quests that players can go through, to teach them about the modpack, and (usually) get rewards!

Open your inventory, and click the book icon in the top-left to open your quest menu. Click on a quest to open it, read it, and claim any rewards!

Home and Waypoint Commands

To make life a little easier, we have commands to allow you to set any point as your home, and also set a waypoint anywhere that you can teleport to!
(these are UNRELATED to the waypoints you set in the map)

/sethome Sets your home
/home Teleports you back to home
/wp set NAME Adds a new waypoint, with a name of your choosing
/wp use NAME Teleports you to that specific waypoint
/wp remove NAME Removes that specific waypoint
/wp undo If you delete a waypoint by accident, immediately run this command!
/wp update NAME Changes the position of that specific waypoint to your current position
/wp list List all of your waypoints
/wp clear DELETES ALL of your waypoints
Maps and Waypoints

This modpack has a map/minimap and waypoint mod, to help keep you from getting lost, and keep track of places of interest!
(these are UNRELATED to the waypoint commands)

  • Press the U key to open your waypoint manager
  • Press the M key to open your map
  • Right-clicking anywhere on the map gives you multiple options, including making a new waypoint

In the waypoint manager, you have a few options

  • With NO waypoint selected, click Add/Edit to make a new waypoint
  • With a waypoint selected, click Add/Edit to edit an existing waypoint
  • With a waypoint selected, click Share to copy the waypoint to chat, so everyone can click and add it!

  • With a waypoint selected, click Delete to mark a waypoint as temporary
  • With a temporary waypoint selected, click Delete to PERMANENTLY delete it
  • You can hold control while clicking waypoints to select them in bulk
  1. Color of the waypoint
  2. Name of the waypoint
  3. The range at which you can see the waypoint in the world
  4. The 1 to 2 letter abbreviation you see in the world at the waypoint's location
  5. Toggle the visibility of the waypoint
Pinging

There is a mod that adds the keybind Ping Location ! Click Button 5 on your mouse to ping. If you have side/thumb buttons on your mouse, it's the front button of the two

If you don't like the keybind (or if you don't have side buttons), see the FAQ to change your keybinds

How do I change my keybinds?
  • Open the menu (press ESC)
  • Click Options...
  • Click Controls...
  • Click Key Binds...
  • Either scroll through the list, or search for the keybind in the search box at the bottom of the screen
  • Click the grey keybind box, and press the button you want to rebind it to
How do I find items and recipes?

This modpack, like almost all, has an item and recipe browser! The one by default is JEI (though I much prefer REI)

Open your inventory (press E).

  • Use the search bar at the very bottom to look for items by name. Click the arrows on the top-right to tab between pages
  • Hover over an item in your inventory (or the browser) and press R to find recipes to create that item
  • Hover over an item in your inventory (or the browser) and press U to find recipes that use that item
  • Hover over an item or recipe in your inventory (or the browser) and press A to add it to your favorites on the left
  • Hover over a favorited item and press A to remove it as a favorite

How do I delete items?

While in your inventory, press T to toggle the visibility of the trash slot. This slot is visible in MOST inventories, but not all. While open, you can move items to it like any other inventory slot. Press the DEL key with the trash slot open to quickly delete an item.
